New home gift ideas for all budgets
This is a collaborative post
Are you looking for gifts to buy for someone you know who is moving house? It can be a hard choice as there are so many people who now have all they need and it isn’t like the old days when people would need a toaster etc. Here are some gift ideas you may not have considered for all budgets if you are stuck for ideas.

Pay moving costs
Could you pay all or some of their moving costs? Whether it be a man and a van up the road or moving house across the country, moving house costs a lot and a little help with these costs could be appreciated much more than an ornament!
A gift of help
If you don’t have much money but want to give someone a gift then the gift of help could be appreciated just as much. Can you offer to help with childcare, decorating their new home or perhaps even unpacking boxes?
Takeaway
After a busy day of moving house, you could buy them a takeaway. If they are short of money this might not be something they can feel justified in buying for themselves but it could be low cost and really help them out.
Flowers
What better to make your new house feel like a gorgeous home than a lovely bunch of flowers. If you do buy this then consider also buying a cheap vase or flowers that are in a container that requires no water straight away. the last thing you want to do is leave them having to hunt for a vase!
Champagne
Who doesn’t fancy a glass of fizz to celebrate their new home? If you are buying for someone who is moving to a new home they are hugely proud of or perhaps their first home then champagne or a cheaper alternative like prosecco could be a great gift.
Something personalised
Some of the best gifts are personalised in my opinion. When we recently moved house we were given a lovely personalised chopping board that I now proudly display on my kitchen shelf. It is unique and looks great. Things like this can be bought for as much or as little as you like and are available within most budgets!
Decorating
Could you offer to help with the decorating or even buy the paint or wallpaper for a room for them? This would be a lovely gift and such a nice way of helping them make their new house a home.
Do you have any other new home ideas I have missed? Let me know in the comments.
