Buying fun family games for gifts can be really tricky so hopefully, these few will give you some ideas! If you are looking for something for all ages don’t overlook Lego. It can be turned into a family activity with Lego building challenges. It’s better than buying something like a scooter which just doesn’t share well.

Connect 4 Shots

The first game I want to share with you is Connect 4 Shots. If you love Connect 4, or even if you don’t this is such family fun. Unlike the original Connect 4, you do not need any real strategy as it is much more down to luck. Maybe in time strategy will come into it though.

Essentially the principle is that you bounce your ball on the table and then into the rack. The balls go everywhere, they hit each other and they don’t go where you want them to. That, however, is fun!

Ben, it turns out is amazing at it, or just has good luck, who knows! We had such fun playing it and this will definitely be a new family favourite. A word of warning though, don’t have drinks nearby when you play! The balls kept landing in my coffee! It is made by Hasbro and around £19.99 on Amazon.

Monopoly Cash Grab

The next game I want to share with you is the Monopoly Cash Grab game. It sounds fun, it looks fun, and it really is fun! Whilst its name suggests it is linked to Monopoly it is nothing like the actual game of Monopoly. It has money and chance cards.

Using the gun shaped money firer the money and chance cards are released in the air for you to catch. There is enough for many goes and the winner is the one with the most money at the end. The chance cards however can play havoc with that.

If you have a chance card that allows you to swap your pile of money with another player for example! As you can see firing the money out was great fun! The Monopoly Cash Grab game is made by Hasbro and required 3 AA batteries. It is currently £19.99 on Amazon.

Toilet trouble flushdown

The next game I love the idea of and want to share with you is Toilet Trouble Flushdown. It looks amazing! We have not played it yet but watch out for pictures on my Instagram when we do! A bargain at £12.49 at the moment on Amazon it looks perfect for kids of any age. Adults too I think because lets face it who doesn’t love a bit of friendly competition!

Quirk

This game is a new one you may well have never heard of. It is called Quirk and it is a bit different to any other game I have ever seen. The aim of the game is to get more Quirks (set of three matching characters) than your opponents!

With defence cards to help you save your collection from others you can fend off the enemies and work your way to victory. Watch out for them giving you a skip card though and making you miss your turn just when you think you have it cracked!

Quirk is a game that is hard to pick up at first but with all the family having to do impressions to complete their Quirks and competing against each other it is pretty fun when you have got the hang of it.

The game suggests age 5+ but I think personally it would be better suited to 8 and above. All children are different though so you know your children best! Those with special needs may need more support I found. Quirk is £11.99 on Amazon. This is the Legends version but there is also the original version and the Monsters version.
